'Important news - Proposed Abolition of the Regional Plan'
In September 2004, the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act brought in major changes to development plan preparation. As a result, the old system of Structure Plans and Local Plans are being replaced by the Local Development Framework (LDF).
Some of our existing Local Plan policies have been ‘saved’ and will remain in force (when considering planning applications) until the new Local Development Framework for Erewash is complete.
The Erewash Local Development Framework consists of the following documents
- Regional Spatial Strategy - Produced by the East Midlands Regional Assembly
- Development Plan Documents - including the Core Strategy, Site Specific Allocations, and Development Control Policies all of which will require extensive public consultation
- Supplementary Planning Documents - Provides additional guidance to supplement local policies
- Annual Monitoring Report - Reports on progress and the effectiveness of the local policies.
- Statement of Community Involvement - This document sets out how the Council will involve the community during the production of the LDF
- Local Development Scheme - This document sets out the timetable for the production of the LDF
A range of studies have also been completed to give us a reliable and up-to-date ‘evidence base’, which will help us to produce the most informed Local Development Framework
