In light of recent permissions granted for additional retail floorspace in Erewash and the submission of an application for a major foodstore in Sandiacre (now withdrawn), the Borough Council commissioned retail consultants. White Young Green to update the Erewash Borough Retail Needs Study (EBRNS) to bring up to date the retail need capacity assessment for the main centres within the Borough over the period to 2026. This update primarily seeks to review Section 8 (‘Population and Expenditure’) and Section 9 (‘Retail Capacity Assessment and the Role of Existing Centres’) of the 2007 Study (See below). Therefore, this update should be read in conjunction with the 2007 Study and where appropriate, the updated retail figures supersede those identified in the previous study. For ease of reference, this update adopts the same approach adopted in the 2007 Study. Final Erewash Updated Retail Study 2010
