Erewash Borough Council has extended its special ‘4 weeks for the price of 3’ offer to regular market traders in both Long Eaton and Ilkeston because of last month’s bad weather.
The Council backed a call from traders to help make the start of 2010 a busy one for the two markets in Erewash and launched the special ‘4 for 3’ offer – with traders signing up and pledging to trade every week over the four weeks of January.
But last month’s extreme weather caused problems for many traders, with the snow and icy conditions forcing some market days to be cancelled.
Councillor Geoff Smith, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration and Planning, said:
“This offer is all about giving our regular stallholders an added incentive to trade in Erewash and help ensure our markets are busy with lots of offers for shoppers. Last month’s bad weather caused all sorts of problems and we are delighted to have been able to extend this offer through February.”
