Local community groups are being urged to take advantage of small grants available to help with projects or activities that help residents from all backgrounds get on well together.
Erewash Borough Council says local community, faith and voluntary groups can apply for one-off grants ranging from £100 to £2,000 from the Derbyshire Bringing People Together Fund.
The Fund is backed by the Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and other partners and the money is to help projects that will have taken place by 30th September this year.
Grants can be spent on activities that focus on helping neighbours get to know each other better, connecting schools with the wider community, bringing young people from different backgrounds and areas together or those that involve older people sharing their experiences with local schoolchildren.
Groups must be based in Derbyshire and applications must be submitted before 16th July. Application forms are available by emailing
