A new skatepark is being developed for Long Eaton at West Park Leisure Centre and Erewash Borough Council would like you to have your say together with Maverick Skatepark Design & Build who have created original community design led skateparks throughout the UK.
The Skatepark Workshop is an opportunity for young people to help develop an original design which will encourage local interest with skateboarders and also attract skateboarding tourists to Long Eaton, enhancing the community’s reputation.
Compared to other sports, skateboarding has a growing number of participants with the new skatepark providing increased choice and helping to meet Erewash Borough Council’s vision to achieve a healthy and vibrant community. Neighbourhood skateparks allow younger skaters to participate safely close to home.
Lead Member for Leisure, Cllr Mike Wallis, said:
“We would like to have as many young people involved as possible in the Skatepark Workshop creating an original design that will be enjoyed by skateboarders across Erewash borough and attract visitors to Long Eaton enhancing the community’s reputation.”
