West Park Leisure Centre’s wet side changing room refurbishment is progressing well; however the contractor undertaking the refurbishment works has requested additional time to complete the contract due to unforeseen circumstances which has delayed the project.
We are currently in talks with the contractor to agree a suitable extension period to complete all the necessary work to ensure Erewash Borough Council provide our customers with a high standard of changing room accommodation.
Once the completion date has been agreed we will contact all our customers to confirm the new arrangements. Unfortunately this will lead to a delay in opening the new facility which we previously anticipated to be on 16th April 2010.
Customers expecting to start swimming lessons will be contacted at the earliest opportunity to rearrange a start date. Existing arrangements in place for gym members will continue until the health suit is reopened as it is currently being used as a temporary changing facility.
