The highly anticipated refurbished changing rooms at West Park Leisure Centre will open on Monday 24th May at 11.30am for the casual swimming session. The flumes will also be operational during evening casual swimming sessions throughout the week and again during casual swimming sessions at the weekend from now on.
The changing rooms have been refurbished to include under floor warming to keep the floor dry, individual changing and shower cubicles, improved access for people with disabilities, older people and families with young children. The changing rooms which were part funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) will give West Park Leisure Centre a new and improved look, while providing better use of the area and we are sure customers will be satisfied with the changes made.
The refurbishment will improve the experience of visitors to West Park and help support the council in achieving increased participation in swimming as part of the National Free Swimming Initiative for people aged 16 and under or 60 and over.
West Park Leisure Centre has fantastic facilities including 25m Swimming Pool, Flumes, Sauna & Steam Room and Teaching Pool. The leisure centre has also secured the prestigious Quest award, the industry standard quality award for the management of sport and leisure facilities throughout the UK.
The Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Robert Parkinson will officially open the new changing facilities on Saturday 19 June.
