Wildlife workshops, fun football training, vintage cars and non-stop arena entertainment for all ages – all part of Erewash Borough Council’s annual Waterside Festival this August Bank Holiday weekend.

This year’s one-day extravaganza takes place at the Gallows Inn Playing Field on Nottingham Road, Ilkeston on Sunday 29th August and is once again a FREE family day out that promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The event runs from 10.30am to 5.30pm and will be officially opened by the Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Robert Parkinson, at 11.30am in the arena.

This is the fourth year the event has been held and there will be entertainment in the arena all day, while other attractions include a funfair, stalls, falconry display, face painting, quad bikes, a fire display and much more.

There will also be a Charity Dog Show and owners can register their pets for this from 1pm, with judging due to start at 2pm.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“We are both delighted and proud that our Waterside Festival, which is now in its fourth year, has become such a fabulous family event – it is definitely a not-to-be-missed date for everyone. It is backed by our Pride in Erewash Campaign and is one of the many sports and leisure events we organise that help put Erewash on the map.

“It will be a great Bank Holiday Sunday and I look forward to seeing everyone enjoying a fantastic – and free – family day.”
