Planning permission

The Stanton site can only be redeveloped if it gets planning permission. Saint-Gobain have told us that they may submit an outline planning application for the development of the land around summer 2012.

Any planning application submitted will be considered by our Planning Committee. Details of how the planning process operates can be found by following this link to

Development Control.

We want you to have your say on the proposals as they are being developed. We will be required to carry out extensive formal consultation when the planning application is submitted. Between now and then, we will make sure that relevant information is made available to you and publish regular updates on our website and in newsletters. We will continue to talk to you by visiting local Community Forums and Parish Councils.

We’d like to make it clear that at this stage no proposals for the site have been approved by Officers or Members. This means that no decision has been made on housing numbers, the mix of uses and the transport and highway options.

When the planning application is submitted, there will  be extensive public consultation as required under the Planning Act.
